Let's be honest. There's nothing fun about cleaning the bathroom. That's probably why it's the chore we all choose to avoid.

The trouble is, the longer we leave our bathroom floors alone, the more dirt and debris can build up. What results is a cleaner's worst nightmare!

The good news is that with the right tile cleaner, keeping your bathroom's ceramic tile clean doesn't have to be so difficult. Here's a quick guide on how to use a tile floor cleaner to keep your bathroom spic and span.

Tip #1: Select a Good Tile Cleaner

When it comes to getting your bathroom tiles cleaned, choosing the best tile floor cleaner is half the battle. While it's tempting to opt for cheaper versions of a product, this can actually end up causing you a great deal of trouble.

The reason behind this is that many cheaper tile cleaners don't include the type of powerful stain removing agents that more high-end products do. While you may pay less upfront, you end up paying more for these products over time.

In contrast, well-made tile cleaners were made by teams that have researched how to clean tile in the best possible way. They include ingredients and chemicals that remove even the most difficult stains.

If you're truly wanting to get rid of the dirt on your bathroom floors, your best choice is to choose a high-quality product upfront. Doing so can save you money and ensure that you're able to get a glowing bathroom floor without putting in hours of elbow grease.

Tip #2: Keep The Grout Clean

One of the most important tips for tile and grout cleaning is making sure that the grout is cleaned. While you may think that the tile matters more, having dirty grout can actually lead to floors that still look dirty.

The reason for this is that grout is a porous material. It picks up grease, dirt, and other debris with ease. That means that the longer it's left without a good cleaning, the more dirt and debris is able to accumulate inside of it. The result is a grimy, dark, and dirty-looking tile.

To keep the grout in your tiles clean, you'll start by spraying the grout down using a commercial grout cleaner. Cleaners that contain bleach can help kill off harmful bacteria and can whiten the grout for an even cleaner look.

When using these types of products, make sure to protect your hands and arms. Using gloves or long sleeves is a good idea for keeping your skin safe from the harsh chemicals in these products.

After spraying down your grout with a cleaning solution, allow the product to rest on the grout for ten minutes. This helps it to soak in and pull the dirt out of the grout's pores. For particularly pesky spots you may need to leave the solution to sit overnight.

From there, use a small scrubbing brush or a toothbrush to scrub the dirt out of the grout. Then, mop the grout and the surrounding flooring and allow it to air dry.

Tip #3: Remove Stains From Tiles

Getting rid of stains is key to keeping your tiles clean. If you don't get rid of the stains, your tiles will continue to look dirty even though they are technically squeaky clean.

For dark stains such as tea, juice, or coffee stains, you'll want to start by washing the tile with a mixture of hot water and detergent. Once you've scrubbed the floors with this concoction, use hydrogen peroxide to blot the stains clean.

Other stains such as grease stains will need to be washed a little bit differently. These should be treated with club soda and water. Or, if you don't have those on hand you can always use a commercial floor cleaner to pull up the grease.

Ink stains will need to be tackled with a cloth soaked in diluted bleach. You'll need to leave the cloth on the spot until the stain has completely disappeared. Afterward, make sure to thoroughly rinse the tile to remove the harsh chemicals.

Tip #4: Clean Your Floors Regularly

Yes, cleaning the bathroom is a nuisance. However, what's more of a nuisance is having to set aside an entire weekend just to get your tiles looking the way they did when you first moved in.

Luckily, you can keep your bathroom tiles clean by scheduling regular cleanings. And, not every cleaning needs to be a deep cleaning session. Sweeping or vacuuming your tiles once or twice a week can help pick up loose dirt and stop it from getting lodged in the grout.

Outside of sweeping and vacuuming, you'll want to make sure to get down and dirty and scrub your floors every now and then, too. The good news is that this job can be performed far less frequently than a simple sweeping.

Typically, you'll only need to scrub your bathroom tiles once a week. For some bathrooms, you can even get away with cleaning your bathroom tiles every two weeks. This will depend on the type of tiles and the size of your bathroom as well as the amount of use your space gets.

Keep Your Bathroom Tiles Free From Dirt and Debris

There's no reason why your bathroom floors should start looking dirty. By taking these quick tips into consideration, you'll be able to keep your bathroom tiles looking beautiful and can avoid lengthy cleaning sessions.
